RICHMOND, CA, June 13, 2006 – VICOR, Inc. today
announced that its Receivables Information Delivery
System (RIDS) solution now will support BancTec, Inc.’s
DocuScan family of scanners. As a result, financial
institutions and businesses have a new way to leverage
the power of the RIDS platform in receivables environments.
The DocuScan is a high-speed, mixed document scanner.
Among its key capabilities are the ability to automatically
process co-mingled checks, envelopes, tri-fold letters
and legal sized pages in a single batch; the ability
to process extra thick or extra long documents; ink-jet
printing; XML and ASCII output; and low and high-resolution
scanning. The DocuScan also eliminates the need to manually
pre-sort documents by size and type, or to hand-feed
difficult documents.
With today’s announcement, VICOR builds upon
the most complete receivables offering in the industry,
with unparalleled flexibility, scalability and operational
efficiencies. RIDS support of BancTec’s DocuScan
scanners delivers greater customization for customers,
allowing them to choose from a family of VICOR-supported
scanners based on their business requirements and hardware
preferences.
“Our support for the DocuScan comes in response
to customer demand for expanded hardware options for
complex receivables applications,” said VICOR
President and CEO Bob Kirk. “From the start, VICOR
has been committed to delivering solutions that offer
users a range of hardware choices to achieve greater
flexibility, improve customer service, and drive operational
efficiencies. Certifying the BancTec scanners is at
the core of that effort.”
“BancTec is pleased to work with a company as
well-regarded as VICOR,” said Jerry Brown, vice
president of global reseller relationships for BancTec.
“VICOR products are the foundation to some of
the largest and most demanding receivables environments
in the world. By offering support for the DocuScan,
VICOR can help its customers optimize complex payments
applications, no matter the document size or type.”
