RICHMOND, CA, August 17, 2005 - VICOR, Inc., a provider
of technology products to the payments industry, today
announced a partnership with eGistics, Inc. to provide
financial services customers with a solution for secure
and cost-efficient long-term image archive and document
management. This new alliance is a key development in
VICOR's strategic initiative to increase and leverage
the company's leading industry position into new markets
with new products and partnerships.
As part of the agreement, VICOR will integrate into
its flagship payment processing platform, RIDS (Receivables
Information Delivery System), eGistics' customer-centric,
on-demand solution for managing the storage, indexing
and retrieval of images and related data via the Internet.
VICOR will make eGistics' Infinite Digital Architecture
(IDA) and Infinite Digital Depository (IDD) available
as key components of RIDS and its VICOR Everywhere suite
of distributed business process solutions.
With image clearing becoming the accepted standard
in payments processing, more banks are demanding long-term,
on-demand archives for images and supplemental remittance
data.
"eGistics has a proven, successful track record in
storage management. With this alliance, VICOR is accelerating
its strategic initiative to deliver products and partnerships
that support our expanding distributed solution suite,"
said VICOR President and CEO Bob Kirk. "As banks and
transaction processors build out their electronic payments
enterprises, they need to be sure that their long-term
storage foundation is secure and reliable. We will provide
our customers with an interface from local storage to
long term on-line storage that is transparent to the
end-user at a very attractive price. Our relationship
with eGistics allows us to deliver a product to address
market requirements, and provides a seamless experience
for customers of our RIDS platform, as well as all of
our future products."
"eGistics is delighted to be partnering with VICOR
on this initiative to provide their high-profile financial
customers access to critical payment content using a
highly secure architecture," says Robert E. Lund, Chairman
& CEO. "We consider VICOR to be a high caliber organization
that carries a reputation as the payment industry's
thought leader. Choosing them as a strategic partner
was a natural fit for eGistics. Our corporate initiatives
align well with VICOR's and, given their presence in
the payments arena, we anticipate the development of
many future opportunities."
