RIDS Remote Keying
RIDS Remote Keying, an optional software module of
VICOR’s Receivables Information Delivery System
(RIDS) platform, allows processors to shift manual keying
functions to more cost effective locations or load level
peak keying volumes.
The RIDS solution has evolved to provide valuable tools
that enable processors to minimize operating expenses
and effectively manage workflow at multiple production
sites. With Remote Keying, processors can scan a document
locally and have data entered remotely – in either
a domestic or offshore location – in real time.
Processors can also shift work between production sites,
thereby reducing site resources formerly required for
periodic or temporary spikes in volume such as state
or municipal tax payments.
Work is presented to remote
operators based on individual account deposit deadlines.
Once a remote operator completes data entry, the work
continues through the RIDS workflow as if the transaction
was processed in a production site. Each production
site then cuts deposits and creates multi-media output
regardless of where the data was entered.
A variation of Remote Keying is Web Snippet Keying,
where snippets of data – such as check amounts
– are keyed remotely, eliminating the need and
risk of moving full check images. With Web Snippet Keying,
the remote keyer needs only a PC, a browser (such as
IE or Netscape), and connectivity. This module provides
an operation the flexibility to locate keyers anywhere—from
distant corporate offices to operators’ homes
– opening the door to a significantly larger labor
pool. No RIDS central server complex is required with
Web Snippet Keying. Snippet Keying is ideal for entering
data from highly sensitive documents since the operator
never sees the full context of the document being keyed.
